Villaceran wrote the short story entitled “Sinigang” in 2001, and it tells the story of Liza, the main character, dealing with the issue of her father having an extramarital affair with Sylvia and having a son, Lem, as a result. We all made mistakes in life because we are all humans, but for liza, no matter how many mistakes others commit of have made with her, she does not harbor resentment in her heart. She accepted everything, including the thing that could destroy their family. For Liza, family matters and more important than anger, and forgiveness is the path to happiness and a peaceful living.
